Lisbon, 1 and 2 October Start of Portugese Camino
Arrival in Lisbon
Loved the cork seats on the metro.
Had a good night out with Robyn and Jeff. Lovely food.
Started out about 8.30 am catching the metro to Oriente.
First Camino way marker.
A long 21 kilometre walk following the Tejo river. Mostly on boardwalks.
Flamingoes. Too far away for a good photo.
After 15km we stopped for a late lunch at a Marina bar, walked another 6km. to Alvera the caught a train to Vila Franca de Xira, arriving at 5.00 p.m. to stay at Hostel DP.
Went to dinner and some much needed beers at a small local restaurant. Communication mostly through a translation app. Enjoyable meal and conversation with another pilgrim Dorit from Israel who helped Jeff load an App she recommended that uses GPS. Back at hostel at 10.15 for much needed sleep and rest.

Amie asked if you'd broken your legs- using crutches on your walk :)
