Day 3, Mōes to Vila Pouca
Tuesday, 6 May
Thought we were in for a short walk today, 11.4 kms on the Gronze app but my watch measured it at 15 kms. A slow day for us as lots of up and downhill but interesting. Again a mixed day of walking on tracks through burnt forest and on minor roads.
Two river crossings by stepping stones which were challenging but, by using our poles to steady ourselves, we crossed safely. Quite fast flowing water dropping to a metre or two in depth on the downriver side of the stones so it was best not to fall off.
We were pleased to see our accommodations at Residential Parque around 3.30 pm as it wasn't showing up on the app until about 200 metres away. Dinner provided here. 30 euro for a double room with private bathroom.
All weather football field and clubrooms at Vila BoaSteve completing the second crossing of the day.
Steve negotiating second river crossing. The water here was shallower than the first crossing but there were at least thirty stepping stones amongst the vegetation some of which looked like coriander.
Second river crossing.
First river crossing of the day.
First stepping stone crossing, a couple of the stones were a little underwater.
The order of these photos is mixed up.
Sorry it's taken so long to get the last three days up on the blog. Partly patchy Internet, partly tiredness.
