Day 2, Almargem to Mōes

Monday, 5 May

No rain today so that was a blessing. The way today was very up and down and we needed to remove our shoes to cross a swollen stream. Yesterday's rain meant the water was about 20 cm above the stepping stones.

Stopped at Cafe Vincent about half way for coffee, a cheese roll followed by a lime ice block which went down well as the day was warm.

We passed through large areas of burnt forest from wildfires. With yesterday's heavy rain we feel confident there will be no fires for a while.

After the longest climb of the day and some downhill we reached Mōes.

18 kms walked today.

Had dinner with Fernando and Francesca again in Mōes.

Nearly there.

Little blessings like this a long the way.
