Day three
Azambuja to Porto de Muge.
We left Azambuja after breakfast at a patisserie. The walk today was better but still too much road walking. The road surface makes the feet hot and tired and there is always the need to be aware of the traffic.
It is tomato harvesting time for ketchup. Huge trucks laden with tomatoes and plenty of tomatoes lying in the fields and being ploughed in.
We stopped at an aerodrome and sat under the trees but the cafe there was closed.
Walked on to Reguengo, 11 kms walked, and had drinks at a cafe there. Blisters meant we finished today's journey by taking a taxi to Porto de Muge.
Unfortunately our accom booking was messed up so we ended up walking back a little way and getting two rooms, dinner and breakfast included. Nice place with swimming pool and stables. Quinta da Marchanta.
Robyn and Jeff completed today's walk, 17 kms, and met us at the hotel.
Pre dinner drinks under the ancient grapevine.
View from our balcony In the chapel at Quinta da Marchanta.
