Calle Poulo to Sigueira 13km.
Wednesday 24 August
After a quick taxi ride we started out from the cafe at Calle Poulo at 8.10 am.
A better walk than we were expecting. The temperature has dropped again and didn't get above 21° while we walked. It was overcast all day which made for more humidity.
In the countryside today so no cafes until we reached the outskirts of Sigueiro just after noon. It seems like we are the only walkers until we stop for 10 mins to rest our feet and then small groups pass by and exchange "buen camino" which is nice. As with the other Caminos we have walked there is a real camaraderie.
Some pics from on the way
A very historic building next to cafe in Calle. To do with King Felipe II 1556-98 most influential king of Spain and Portugal as well as de facto king of England and Ireland through marriage to Queen Mary.Lunch at Segueiro
Today's walk: 2nd half of yesterday's.
Steve: The Postit note writer proceeds us!
The playground right outside our room, haven't been tempted yet.
Staying at Hostel Saiba. New excellent accomodation. 70 euro.
Teresa caused a problem by using the coffee cups to make herself a lemon and ginger tea!

We are enjoying the comments that are coming through. It is a great link with all at home. Gracias.

Loving following your journey and appreciating your photos to get a sense of the area Œ 😊
ReplyDeleteThanks Œ. Nice to know you are enjoying. Last stop right now for refreshment before Santiago. It's always sad but good to finish. Will start Camino Finisterre hopefully on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteLemon and ginger in the coffee cups. They will be shaking their heads over that for a while!
